MXDVWELD is a software platform to simulate welding, from physics of the process to prediction of residual stresses and induced distortions.
Directly linked to our research, this approach, which uses only the operating parameters, has already proven its efficiency in studies carried out for the industry and opens a path to the optimization of welding.
See below the diagram of the different physical processes (arc model), thermo-physical-mechanical (melting bath), mechano-metallurgical (metallurgical phases z) and their couplings.
The coupling with a fatigue of welded structures software is envisaged in the end to allow optimization of the assembly.
